Children's Toys

It seems like children's toys can multiply overnight and find their way onto the floor! Have you ever felt like you just cannot pick up one more toy or that you don't have the energy to turn a moment into a teaching time and have your toddlers pick up their own toys? Did you or do you have a creative way to tiddy up toys? What have you done to help make your home decorated less about toys and more about your family as a whole? If you want to send me photos of your toy makeovers, I would love to post them as an update to this posting.

We will revisit this Thoughtful Thursday next week with a follow up and then I will ask about our next Thoughtful Thursday subject. I am having fun figuring out a special way for us to all help each other in practical ways. If you have an idea, situation or want to help me out ... feel free to email me!

  1. I have put some of my kids toys in storage containers that fit in the bottom of one of my dressers in our family room. I didn't want to have toys displayed in our family room so I decided to tuck them away. This also helps with too many toys being out as I only let them have one container at a time. Also I have noticed that since they "hidden" in the drawer my kids don't think about pulling them out. That works to my advantage when I am on an important phone call or friends come over. They are like brand new toys to them and they stay very entertained.

  2. Once I went through my girls toy box and we boxed up half of the toys and put them in the attic. One year later we had a great supply of "brand new" toys! Only they were better than new, fondly remembered and now treasured.
